Overview

Facility: Lake City Healthcare and Rehabilitation
Position: Activity Aide
Location: Lake City, Florida
Shift: Full-Time 11am-7pm
Salary: $17.56/hour

Responsibilities
  • Design & Facilitate Programs:
    Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities—games, crafts, music, social events—tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
  • Personalized Engagement:
    Meet one-on-one with residents and families to learn preferences, ensuring each activity feels meaningful and inclusive.
  • Community Building:
    Encourage participation, foster a sense of belonging, and adapt programs for residents unable to join group events.
  • Environment Management:
    Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for all activities; assist with recreation supply inventory and recommend replenishment.
  • Well-Being Focus:
    Support residents’ physical, mental, and emotional health through purposeful, joyful experiences.
Requirements
  • Experience:

    Minimum two (2) years in a social or recreation program within the last five years—one year of full-time in patient activities within a healthcare setting; OR
  • Credentials:
    Qualified Occupational Therapist/Occupational Therapy Assistant; OR
  • Training:
    Completion of a state-approved activities or recreation training course.
  • Personal Attributes:
    Fun, upbeat attitude with a genuine passion for working with seniors; creativity, enthusiasm, and excellent communication skills.
  • Skills:

    Strong organization and time-management abilities; prior experience in activities or recreation (2+ years preferred).
