STARTING SALARY: $15.00 Hourly

• Part-time position approximately 10 hours per week during the school year.
• The City of Lake City is accepting applications for the position of a School Crossing Guard. This position is responsible for assisting children at school crossings during scheduled school hours to keep children safe.

• Assist children at school crossings during scheduled school hours to keep children safe.
• Ensure that vehicles stop to allow students to cross the street.
• Assist with issues that may arise among students in the immediate assigned area.

• Ability to analyze situations quickly and determine the proper course of action.
• Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously, and tactfully, with respect for the rights of others.
• Ability to learn the geography of the City and its physical and social characteristics.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; meet physical requirements and standards; and communicate effectively.

• Applicant must be a high school graduate or possess a GED and a valid Florida Driver License.
• Applicant will be required to pass a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen.
