Technician Helper

Summary

The Technician Helper assists senior technicians in various tasks, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations. This role involves supporting the technical team by preparing tools, materials, and work spaces, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. The Technician Helper also performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks under supervision, contributing to the overall productivity and success of the technical operations. This position requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Follows all company safety and quality procedures
• Certified to operate Forklift
• Cleaning, blasting, and painting valve components
• Return Valves/Parts to Proper Bins, Boxes, etc.
• Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.)
• May be required to disassemble valve without damaging parts per the manufacturer’s Installation & Operation Manual
• May be required to document and enter job data into applicable database and document photos
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Maintain equipment in area, as required
• May be required to help in field assignments
• May be required to climb and work at various elevations depending on job scope
• May be required operate motor vehicle
• Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
• Current or up-to-date TWIC (preferred)
• Current Basic OSHA Safety Training (preferred)
• Job specific degree and/or certification (preferred)

• Safety and quality-minded
• Basic mechanical aptitude including, but not limited to, basic hand and power tool knowledge
• Basic computer knowledge
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Demonstrate effective time management skills
• Ability to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
• Must clear background check and drug/alcohol screening

• Lifting: up to 50 pounds
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
• Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Communicating with others to exchange information
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, handsand/or fingers
• Operating machinery and/or power tools
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
• Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
• Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
• Able to hold body weight while swinging on rope during static and dynamic transfer (offshore)
• Able to pass periodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
