Senior Diesel Mechanic – WM

WM is hiring a Senior Diesel Mechanic to work in our Lake Charles, LA hauling site. As a Senior Diesel Mechanic you will maintain and repair over 20 million customer trucks and equipment across the United States.

Monday – Friday
9:00 am – 6:30 pm
One Saturday per month

• Starting salary $33+ per hour depending on experience
• Tool allowance up to $500 per quarter

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to emergency breakdown calls.
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.

• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical.

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing.
• Constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing.
• Exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, heat and humidity.
• Work in both inside garage/shop and outside conditions (inclement weather, heat, humidity).
