Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN - Med Surg

About The Role

Revv Staffing is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Med Surg unit. In this role, you will provide direct and indirect patient care, perform nursing procedures within your scope of practice, and assist the RN and healthcare team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. This position requires professional communication with patients, families, and colleagues, and accurate documentation of patient care.

  Up to $26/hour + stipend

Provide patient care including hygiene, comfort, nutrition, feeding, oral care and daily routines.

• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures per physician/NP orders and state regulations, including but not limited to:
  • Sterile dressing changes, wound care, and compresses
  • NG tube feeding and irrigation
  • Catheterizations and enemas
  • Tracheotomy care and suctioning (nasopharyngeal and tracheotomy)
  • Other procedures as delegated by the RN or Physician/NP
• Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, intake/output, and IVs, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Assist RN with admissions, patient education, discharge planning and procedures.
• Collect, label, store and deliver specimens following proper precautions.
• Support patient mobility, transport, ambulation and response to call bells.
• Assist with procedures alongside RN, Physician or NP as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-services, committees and maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Communicate professionally with staff, management, physicians, patients and families.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Perform other nursing duties as delegated within scope and state law.

• Current LPN license in Louisiana (or compact state)
• Required
  
  Certifications:
  
  BLS/CPR, CPI/MOAB, ACLS
• Preferred
  
  Certifications:
  
  PALS
• Minimum of 1 year acute care experience preferred.
• Proficient in medication administration, patient documentation and basic computer skills.
• Ability to chart in CPSI
• Ability to work physically demanding shifts, including lifting, bending, walking and responding to emergencies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
