Purpose of JobThe role supports daily production operations by analyzing process data, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with site teams to keep the unit running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include assisting with small projects, improving operating procedures, and contributing to cost and performance tracking. The engineer also participates in Management of Change, identifies basic optimization opportunities, and begins developing foundational leadership and teamwork skills.
KeyAccountabilities
- Monitor daily unit performance, analyze data trends, and recommend improvements to increase safety, reliability, and efficiency
- Support troubleshooting of production issues by working closely with Operations,Maintenance, Engineering, and other site teams
- Coordinate with Integrated Planning and Business Teams on production plans, feed strategies,and optimization opportunities
- Identify basic cost‑reduction or process‑improvement opportunities and support the development of continuous improvement ideas
- Provide technical support to commercial teams by addressing product specifications and customer inquiries
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes, ensuring safe and compliantimplementation of changes
- Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment or process issues (e.g.,troubleshooting, RCAs, incident reviews)
- Help track and enforce key Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements within the unit
- Begin developing leadership skills by learning site policies/procedures, supporting frontlineteams, and strengthening communication with Operations
University Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
Working Experience3+ years relevant experience
Required Personal & Professional Skills- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills — ability to interpret data, diagnose issues, and recommend sound technical solutions
- Effective communication skills — clear verbal and written communication with Operations, Maintenance, and leadership
- Solid organizational and time‑management skills — able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities safely and efficiently
- High safety awareness — consistently follows and promotes safe work practices in a high‑risk operating environment
- Ability to work collaboratively — strong teamwork skills and the ability to build productive relationships across site functions
