SUMMARYThe following position is for a Senior Fixed Asset Reliability Engineer. The Senior Fixed Asset Reliability Engineer is responsible for assessing, designing, maintaining, and improving the reliability and performance of fixed assets to ensure the safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and provide technical oversight for site initiatives that provide improvements to fixed asset reliability.
- Participate as an integral member of site Area Improvement Teams to provide support and technical expertise for fixed assets.
- Continuously monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement. Implement reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) practices to enhance the dependability of fixed assets.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, to minimize unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
- Assess risk associated with fixed assets, perform engineering evaluations, and propose risk mitigation strategies to lower risk to acceptable levels as part of the Risk Based Inspection program.
- Investigate equipment failures and develop root cause analyses (RCA). Use data and analysis to implement solutions that mitigate damage mechanisms to prevent future failures.
- Perform asset fitness for service (FFS) evaluations based on damage mechanisms affecting fixed assets that lead to repair/run/replace decision.
- Develop repair and/or alteration scopes for assets based on engineering assessments and inspection findings/recommendations.
- Participate on capital project teams to ensure that fixed assets meet industry standards and are designed for reliability, safety, and longevity. Review and provide input on design specifications and plans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations, including codes such as ASME, API, and other industry standards.
- Review and audit records, reports, and documentation related to equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance.
- Develop and deliver training programs that improve the technical skills of the team, including mentoring less experienced team members.
- Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre‑employment physical requirements before starting work.
- A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering;
Mechanical Engineering preferred. - Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in the design, operation, and/or maintenance of fixed assets.
- Reliability and/or Maintenance Engineering experience in the chemical manufacturing industry; preferably petrochemical, LNG, or petroleum refinery.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with relevant engineering codes, standards, and recommended practices (i.e. ASME, API, NBIC, etc) relating to fixed assets.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, SAP, and engineering software (i.e. Compress, Caesar).
