OverviewJob Summary/Purpose
Supports Utility Operations in the management of developing safety training programs, strategy, presentations, workshops, communications, policy, and rules.
Responsibilities- Work with Jurisdictional Safety Team to ensure effective implementation of safety programs and the creation of new programs from analyzing audit/observation/assessment information and consistent system-wide application of safety processes and procedures across the Jurisdiction.
- Support the contract workforce by:
Investigating Contractor Incidents and safety-related issues on the Entergy System; performing Field Observations to ensure compliance with OSHA Regulations and Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures; assisting Contractor Safety Department during Accident Investigations; and supporting Contractor Training of Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures. - Interpret OSHA regulations and provide guidance to management on proper application in the workplace.
- Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Desirable:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Safety or equivalent work experience. - Minimum Experience: Safety Specialist II: 4-6 years;
Safety Specialist III: 7-10 years;
Sr. Safety Specialist: 11-14 years. Preferred:
Previous distribution and substation experience. - Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication; ability to influence and motivate a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce; strong knowledge of OSHA regulations; strong computer skills; ability to work irregular hours and travel; leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to assess hazards and mitigate them; commitment to customer service and inclusive environment.
