Overview
Louisiana Bridge Builders ("LBB") is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

PositionPOSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Bulldozer Operator I is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by operating heavy machinery to push earth and materials to grade land or clear areas for the Project.
LocationThis position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Operate machinery to complete tasks such as grading, leveling, clearing debris, digging trenches, and pushing materials.
- Shape terrain, move large volumes of earth, rocks, and rubble according to blueprints and construction plans.
- Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
- Perform basic routine operator maintenance, lubrication, and fueling of equipment.
- Coordinate machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals.
- Operate machinery to perform tasks efficiently and safely.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
- Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
- Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
- Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
- Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, as needed, to best serve the business operations. In addition, may include ability to work additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to operate machinery using throttles, switches, pedals, levers, etc.
At a minimum, the Bulldozer Operator I must have 2+ years of relevant, proven, experience operating construction equipment. National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certification is preferred.
