We are currently seeking a Platform Engineer for a project hire (up to 12 months) position to support our engineering team.

About the Role:

Our team is responsible for platform and systems, focusing on data pipelines, on‑prem server architecture, data delivery and analytics, and Dev Ops automation. This project‑based role will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure that supports these capabilities.

As a hands‑on technical contributor, you will work closely with engineering and product partners to ensure robust, scalable, and automated environments. While this role does not primarily involve application coding, you will leverage tools like Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD systems to streamline deployments and optimize system performance.

Responsibilities of Role:
  • Partner with team members, product, and engineering partners to deliver new features and resolve project issues while developing specifications for assigned components or fixes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Efficiently support software throughout its lifecycle, performing technical maintenance and troubleshooting for components while maintaining clear documentation.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployments across environments.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align platform architecture with business and technical goals.
  • Monitor and improve system performance, availability, and scalability through proactive analysis and automation.
  • Maintain compliance with security and operational standards across all environments.
Must Haves:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, Dev Ops, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of Dev Ops concepts (performance monitoring, autoscaling, failover, redundancy, traffic analysis).
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Hands‑on experience with server infrastructure, including:
    • Linux and Windows server administration
    • Network configuration and troubleshooting
    • Storage management and backup strategies
    • Virtualization technologies (e.g., Harvester, Rancher, VMware, Proxmox, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work across multiple teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Highly thorough with the ability to clearly document work.
  • Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and ability to identify root causes and drive solutions.
Nice to Haves:
  • Knowledge/experience with AWS products and services.
  • Experience with web delivery workflows.
  • Exposure to distributed systems and data pipeline architectures.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Strong technical foundation in system‑level architecture and automation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
