Pro Match has a permanent opportunity for a skilled and reliable Welder to join our client’s team based in Sutherland. The business is known for its commitment to responsible aquaculture, producing premium‑quality salmon through low‑impact farming methods across remote coastal sites. This hands‑on role plays a key part in maintaining safe, compliant and efficient operations by delivering high‑quality welding and fabrication work across seawater, freshwater and vehicle assets.
Aboutthe Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for welding, fabricating and repairing a wide range of equipment and structures used across the company’s marine and land‑based operations. This includes supporting maintenance teams and ensuring all fabricated components meet safety, durability and regulatory standards. It’s a varied role requiring technical skill, precision and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out welding and fabrication work on machinery, cages, frames, platforms and other operational structures
- Support repairs and maintenance across seawater and freshwater sites
- Ensure all work meets Health & Safety, environmental and fish welfare standards
- Inspect, maintain and repair fabricated components to prevent downtime
- Contribute to waste management and responsible material use
- Participate in training, support new staff and cover out‑of‑hours duties (including weekends) when required
- Proven experience as a Welder or Fabricator, ideally within marine, industrial or processing environments
- Strong welding skills (MIG/TIG/ARC) with the ability to work to high safety and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Practical, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills
- Good communication and the ability to work independently or as part of a wider team
- Professional, responsible attitude with a commitment to safe working practices
- Full driving licence and own transport
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys varied, practical work and contributing to the smooth running of a fast‑paced operational environment.
The successful Welder will work full‑time hours, primarily Monday to Friday, with flexibility to support overtime — including weekends when required. In return, a competitive salary of £40,000 is offered based on a 40‑hour week, with enhanced overtime rates of 1.5x the standard rate during weekdays and 1.75x at weekends.
