Direct booking and detailing of small meeting and room blocks for various clients, both corporate and social. Maximize profitability and revenue of the hotel by upselling and achieving sales goals.
Responsibilities- Perform job responsibilities in accordance with organizational standards.
- Cultivate client partnerships and ensure all details are communicated and executed for a successful and enjoyable experience.
- Actively sell guest rooms and food & beverage to small groups, meeting monthly and quarterly goals.
- Review sales contracts and key details such as room blocks, cut‑off dates, special concessions, and attrition clauses, validating with clients.
- Monitor and enforce deadline dates for group rooms cut‑off, BEO requirements, and function guarantees.
- Create and distribute group resumes, communicating changes to appropriate departments and people in a timely manner.
- Recommend enhancements or upgrades to maximize revenue.
- Engage in site visits and/or client meetings.
- Confirm payment information.
- Participate in weekly Sales, Operations, and BEO meetings and any other required meetings.
- Prepare proposals and contracts, advising prospective guests on meeting space and rate availability; calculate and quote prices within guidelines.
- Represent the hotel professionally at client and industry functions.
- Obtain rooming list details and request deposits where applicable.
- Maintain passion and drive to outperform the competition.
- Attend all department and hotel meetings as necessary.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as outlined.
- Perform any other job duties as assigned.
- Superior communication skills, including phone and written.
- Computer skills:
Outlook, Word, Excel. - Knowledge of sales software (e.g., Delphi/Sales Pro/Marriott Systems) is helpful.
- Professional demeanor.
- Demonstrated ability to multi‑task, manage time, and work well under pressure.
- High school diploma (or equivalent); college degree preferred.
- At least 1–2 years of sales experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Superior negotiation skills and proven ability to close deals.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to clients.
- Ability to focus on guest needs and remain calm and courteous at all times.
- Anticipate working weekends and holidays as needed (hospitality is 24/7).
- Strong sales skills: persuade, influence buying decisions, close sales, build rapport, maintain key partnerships.
- Effective communication: active listening, executing meetings/events, keeping departments informed with BEOs and other information.
- Organizational skills: prioritize tasks and maintain strong attention to detail.
