JOB SUMMARYUnder supervision, configure, repair, install and troubleshoot personal computers (PC’s), software and related equipment; support PC users in use of various hardware and software; maintain records of PC and related equipment; act as liaison between VMS and outside services regarding PC’s; configure, install, replace, troubleshoot VoIP phone hardware and software and instruct users in proper use; and perform other related work as required.
Work involves regular contact with other departments, divisions, employees and outside vendors.
- Configure and install personal computers, printers, network cards, hard drives, memory and other hardware; install and configure PC software, operating systems, network protocols, and security mechanisms; install and configure computer peripheral devices, such as keyboards, mice, monitors, printers, scanners, bar code readers, external drives, projectors, touch pads, signature capture devices, other PC connectible devices.
- Analyze, diagnose and correct various computer hardware and software problems, configuration anomalies and network errors.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to employees in use of IOT Technologies, personal computers, peripherals and software.
- Maintain detailed records of all computer hardware, software, software licenses and maintenance history. Coordinate equipment preventive maintenance and repair.
- Configure, install and replace VoIP phone handsets and software at user locations, verifying connectivity to Corporate phone system. Configure phone contact management software and contact management software when applicable.

- Drives a vehicle to meetings, workshops, remote facilities and other job-related responsibilities.
- Regular attendance is required. All duties performed on-site for the Community.
Act as backup and assistant to the System Administrator for local area network administration, technical support and maintenance.
EQUIPMENT OPERATEDPC, printer, telephone, fax machine, copier, digital camera and other PC and network devices as necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a climate-controlled noisy data center and head-end facility, indoor office and normal outdoor elements.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS- Graduation from high school including or supplemented by courses in personal computer operations or equivalent combination of education and experience which produces the following:
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job. - Knowledge of Windows 7, 10 and 11, Microsoft Office, Office 365, email connectivity, Internet connections and other software as needed.
- Knowledge of personal computer hardware, configurations and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of modern office equipment, practices, systems and procedures.
- Ability to maintain adequate and accurate production of repetitive jobs during normal working periods.
- Ability to maintain organized, accurate and detailed records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, see,and use hands to finger, grasp, feel and reach.
The employee is frequently required to kneel, pull, push, stoop, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTSReading, detailed work, confidentiality, problem solving, reasoning, verbal/written communication skills, multiple concurrent tasks, constant interruptions.
