Project Estimator

Eco Green Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Energy Project Estimator to join our team at our Laguna Niguel, CA office. This role is responsible for developing accurate, well-scoped project estimates and supporting the design and quoting process for a wide range of energy efficiency and infrastructure projects.

In addition to traditional energy efficiency retrofits, this role will cross over into developing scopes of work for renewable energy and facility improvement projects, including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging infrastructure, and roof replacement. The Energy Project Estimator will collaborate closely with the Project Quoting & Design Lead, engineering, sales, auditors, vendors, and operations team.

• Develop detailed and accurate estimates for projects based on energy audits, scopes of work, drawings, and site data
• Review energy audits completed by field auditors to verify quantities, assumptions, and proposed measures
• Specify and quantify equipment, materials, and labor for projects including:
• LED Lighting systems (interior, exterior, and specialty applications)
• EC Motors for HVAC and air movement systems
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for pumps and motors
• HVAC Motor Retrofits
• ASH Controls and related building automation solutions
• Send photometric layout requests to lighting vendors and coordinate receipt of lighting designs and fixture schedules
• Review photometric designs for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project scope and existing light levels
• Obtain and evaluate vendor pricing, lead times, and product specifications
• Maintain and update internal quote sheets and approved product lists as new products are introduced

• Assist in developing scopes of work and preliminary estimates for:
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• EV Charging infrastructure
• Roof replacement projects tied to energy or solar initiatives
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to align scope, assumptions, and pricing for these project types
• Support integrated project proposals that combine energy efficiency, renewable energy, and building upgrades

• Coordinate with sales and design leadership to align scope, pricing, and technical assumptions
• Ensure estimates meet company standards, applicable codes, and utility funding requirements
• Maintain organized documentation of estimates, revisions, assumptions, and supporting materials
• Assist with finding alternate energy solutions, and scope optimization

• 2+ years of experience in estimating, quoting, or project support within energy services, HVAC, electrical, construction, or renewable energy industries
• Working knowledge of energy efficiency technologies such as LED lighting, motors, VFDs, and controls
• Ability to review audits, equipment schedules, and site data for retrofit and infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with solar, EV charging, BESS, or roofing scopes is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, lighting layouts, and technical documentation
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating, quoting, or CRM tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Energy Service Companies (ESCOs)
• Familiarity with utility financing programs
• Experience coordinating photometric designs with lighting manufacturers
• Understanding of LED Lighting, HVAC systems, pumping systems, renewable energy, or facility upgrade
