Job Overview:
Responsible for patient care under the direction of a doctor or office manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history, and reason for seeking care.
  • Answer phone calls and process messages.
  • Schedule patients' appointments.
  • Maintain patient records confidentially.
  • Enter patients' information and medical records in EMR.
  • Process co-pays at the time of patients' visits.
  • Verify insurance and process prior authorizations.
  • Fax and scan patients' documents.
  • Handle medical records according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned per the requirements of the medical/surgical practice.

    • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a medical office and with patients.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Certification in medical assisting preferred.
