Position Summary
Incumbent assists physicians and nurses in the medical care and treatment of orthopedic outpatients. Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
ResponsibilitiesThe role includes supporting on‑site orthopedic procedures, patient care coordination, and administrative tasks in the outpatient setting.
Required Qualifications- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated completion of extremity immobilization and/or casting workshop within 6 months of hire.
- BLS certification upon hire.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to maintain a flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Previous experience working as an Orthopedic Tech in an ambulatory setting.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
- Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese.
