Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy

Overview

Description The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech II performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).

• Support filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments, ensuring accuracy and promptness.
• Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triage patient orders, and maintain the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).

• Required:
  
  H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Required:
  
  California Pharmacy Technician License upon hire.
• Required:
  
  Minimum of one year (>2080 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with current PTCB certification, or 2 years (>4160 hours) hospital pharmacy experience without PTCB certification.

• Coursework/Training:
  Pharmacy technician program (may be required in some states).
• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).
