Qualifications:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Repair, troubleshoot, maintain and operate plumbing/electrical systems.
- Be proficient in welding and sweating techniques to include oxy-acetylene and electric.
- Be able to give estimates on material and labor.
- Possess working knowledge of emergency procedures throughout the system (cut-off of water, gas, and electricity).
- Keep abreast of all technical bulletins and publications pertaining to organic equipment.
- Possess a valid Georgia vehicle operator's permit and operate, in a safe manner, assigned school-owned vehicle in the performance of assigned duties.
- Establish workable relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
- Maintain, in a serviceable condition, tools, and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintain appropriate certification as plumber/electrician.
- Other duties as assigned by the executive director or any maintenance supervisor.
Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.
Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires constant physical demands: 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and occasional lifting/carrying.
