Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years technical school preferred
  • Three (3) years experience required
  • License/certification in field
  • Valid Georgia driver's license
  • Performance

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Repair, troubleshoot, maintain and operate plumbing/electrical systems.
    • Be proficient in welding and sweating techniques to include oxy-acetylene and electric.
    • Be able to give estimates on material and labor.
    • Possess working knowledge of emergency procedures throughout the system (cut-off of water, gas, and electricity).
    • Keep abreast of all technical bulletins and publications pertaining to organic equipment.
    • Possess a valid Georgia vehicle operator's permit and operate, in a safe manner, assigned school-owned vehicle in the performance of assigned duties.
    • Establish workable relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
    • Maintain, in a serviceable condition, tools, and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
    • Maintain appropriate certification as plumber/electrician.
    • Other duties as assigned by the executive director or any maintenance supervisor.
    Other Functions:

    Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.

    Working Environment:

    The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

    Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires constant physical demands: 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and occasional lifting/carrying.
