Job DescriptionMajor Surgical & Vein Clinic is a growing medical practice specializing in all areas of general surgery and performing specialized vein treatments. We are seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Medical Front Office Assistant / Medical Receptionist to join our team in LaGrange, GA 30241.
This role is essential to clinic operations and patient experience and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage scheduling, insurance, and financial responsibilities in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities- Greet and register patients in person and by phone
- Answer and triage incoming phone calls
- Assist patients both in the office and outside of the office
- Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations
- Complete patient registration and demographic updates
- Collect copays, out-of-pocket amounts, and outstanding balances
- Provide basic financial counseling to patients
- Reconcile cash drawer and complete end-of-day reports
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support insurance verification and billing processes
- Work with ICD-10 codes as applicable
- Maintain front office cleanliness, organization, and workflow
- Cross-train to support clinic operations as needed
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff, providers, and leadership
- Deliver excellent customer service and patient support
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Front Office Assistant (Preferred)
- Prior experience in a medical or healthcare office required
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Experience with insurance verification and authorizations
- Comfortable handling patient payments and financial discussions
- Proficient with eCW EMR systems and office software
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - Bilingual proficiency is a plus
