Overview
Position Title: Placement Specialist
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position SummaryThe Placement Specialist leads the marketing process for renewals within the Risk Management Unit.
Job Responsibilities- Leads the renewal process, adhering to the established renewal workflow and timelines.
- Recommends changes to the renewal process that will result in greater internal efficiency and excellent customer service.
- Coordinates and communicates with internal partners throughout the marketing process to ensure consistently high levels of client service.
- Meets with insured prior to renewal to obtain current information and identify exposures.
- Determines appropriate markets, carriers, and coverages to quote for client needs.
- Sends completed applications to carriers. Answers all carrier requests and questions until quotes are received.
- Completes analysis of quotes and coverages to determine options for proposal.
- Meets with insured to present proposal. Provides guidance in coverage selections.
- Binds coverage as authorized by the client.
- Creates executive summary of renewal to share with internal partners.
- Updates Agency Management System with all submission notes and results.
- Quotes new lines of coverage mid-term as needed.
- Performs other specific duties and projects assigned by the Chief Operations Officer.

EducationCollege degree preferred
Work ExperienceAt least 5 years of related experience preferred
Professional Certifications / LicensesP&C License
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand and analyze commercial lines coverage, markets, forms, and policies. Above average mathematical skills
- Strong attention to details and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computers and MS Office products; working knowledge of Sagitta agency management system preferred
- Environment in which constant deadlines exist
- Must be available to work outside of regularly scheduled hours if necessary to meet client needs and deadlines
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Single-day regional travel required for client meetings
