Responsibilities- Alterations Specialists are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal and reporting to the Store Manager. They exemplify friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise and provide superior customer service.
- Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats and in person; communicate clearly and concisely; adapt style to suit customers by problem solving, excellent phone skills and conflict resolution.
- Use all systems to manage customer flow to deliver a five-star customer experience.
- Maintain service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting needs, and supporting customers’ emotional and practical needs; complete operational checklist tasks.
- Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at one time and contribute to the store’s Five-Star Customer Service achievement.
- Proactively address customer concerns with confidence; know when to escalate and partner with leadership.
- Explain how alterations can improve the dress for the event and promote all alteration services and personalization options.
- Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers regarding gown fit and customization.
- Maintain store standards to support a flawless shopping experience and comply with the Dress Code Policy.
- Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments; inspect garments altered/steamed/pressed to verify pristine condition before delivery.
- Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information; build long-term relationships to meet and exceed satisfaction and loyalty.
- Manage alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning to company standards; ensure pricing aligns with company standards.
- Resolve customer service issues in a swift and effective manner following company guidelines.
- Support cash wrap processes and ensure transactions are accurate to celebrate every customer.
- Maintain the alterations room in a clean and organized condition; perform duties as assigned by store management.
- Typically stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach for tools; climb stairs; bend, twist, and move throughout the store; communicate with customers.
- Manual dexterity for POS use, counting money, steaming garments, computer use, and sewing/fittings as required.
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds; vision and perception required for computer and device usage for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of prior retail experience in apparel or a specialty store environment.
- Prior sewing experience, preferably in bridal or special occasion production.
- Prior experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.
