Quality Manager - Pipelines​/Facilities

WHC LLC (A Surerus Murphy Company) (WHC), is seeking to recruit a Sector Quality Manager – Pipelines/Facilities. The Sector Quality Manager for Pipelines and Facilities is responsible for leading and managing the Quality Control and Inspection function across all Pipeline and Facilities construction projects. This role ensures projects meet customer, regulatory, and WHC quality standards through strategic oversight of inspection teams, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Oversee all quality-related activities across pipeline and facility projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., API 1104, ASME B31.4/B31.8, NACE SP0169, SP0502, SP0207, etc.) client specifications, and WHC’s internal Quality Management Program.

• Develop, mentor and manage project-specific quality staffing plans and inspection personnel assignments.
• Support multi-project execution with a focus on consistency, accuracy, and standard compliance.
• Lead problem-solving and conflict resolution related to quality issues with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Maintain continuous communication with Project Managers, Inspectors, and Client Quality Representatives.
• Ensure thorough documentation is captured, controlled, and turned over at project close-out.
• Coordinate lessons-learned sessions and drive quality improvements across projects.
• Maintain sector-specific quality KPIs and support executive reporting.
• Provide leadership in quality audits, NCR/RCA training, investigations, management, and corrective action effectiveness.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with sector and business/department leaders of the organization.
• Positively represent the company and business Sectors in industry forums and bid meetings.

Note:

In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or API 1169 pipeline quality certifications required.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in pipeline and pipeline facility construction quality management or inspection.

• Robust knowledge and understanding of pipeline industry codes and quality practices.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), leadership, and computer skills (MS Office, EDMS systems).

This position is based at our Broussard, LA office. Travel to project sites is required (50-60%).

The Sector Quality Manager reports to the Director of Quality Control.
