About the Role

The Part-time Groundskeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of real estate properties within the rental and leasing industry. This position focuses on the upkeep of outdoor spaces, ensuring that lawns, gardens, walkways, and common areas are clean, well-maintained, and inviting for residents and visitors. The Groundskeeper will perform routine landscaping tasks, seasonal maintenance, and minor repairs to enhance property value and tenant satisfaction.

Working under the supervision of property management, the role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ultimately, the Groundskeeper contributes to creating a welcoming environment that supports the overall success of the property portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field.
  • Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between properties as needed.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or early mornings, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification or training in landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
  • Experience with irrigation systems and basic knowledge of plant care.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols related to landscaping equipment and chemical use.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs on outdoor structures and equipment.
  • Previous experience working in real estate property maintenance or rental communities.
Responsibilities
  • Perform regular lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding to maintain neat and attractive grounds.
  • Water plants, trees, and lawns as needed, ensuring healthy growth and appearance.
  • Collect and dispose of debris, leaves, and trash from outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness.
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks including planting flowers, mulching, snow removal, and minor repairs to fences or outdoor fixtures.
  • Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or property damage to management promptly.
  • Collaborate with property management and other maintenance staff to coordinate groundskeeping activities and special projects.

Proficiency with landscaping tools and equipment is essential for completing mowing, trimming, and cleanup activities effectively.
