The Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical) provides professional nursing care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code for Nurses
. The RN serves as a clinical leader and partner on the interdisciplinary healthcare team, ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care while supporting the organization’s mission and nursing philosophy.
- Deliver evidence-based patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Communicate, delegate, and direct nursing staff and ancillary team members effectively.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans to achieve optimal results.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs.
- Serve as a role model for professional accountability, teamwork, and ethical practice.
- Maintain awareness of and compliance with safety, privacy, and infection control regulations.
- Adapt to diverse patient populations and changing clinical environments.
- Maintain knowledge of current nursing practices and participate in quality-improvement initiatives.
- Minimum 2 years of orthopedic or medical/surgical nursing experience required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana (or compact state).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Certification in a clinical specialty area preferred.
- Experience in acute or inpatient hospital settings.
- Proven leadership and delegation skills within interdisciplinary teams.

- Required: Registered Nurse diploma
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. frequently.
- Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases
. - May encounter hazardous medications or waste; PPE provided per hospital standards.
