This job operates with supervision and is responsible for conducting safety inspections, routine equipment testing, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs on designated biomedical equipment. This role also supports clinical staff, including nurses and biomedical technicians, by addressing technical or operational issues related to equipment functionality.

EducationRequired - Associate degree in electronics from an accredited college or university or received their ETA International Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CETA) in the Armed Services
Work ExperiencePreferred - 2 years experience in health care
CertificationsRequired - Current Driver s License

(KSAs)
- Familiarity with and skills to repair electrical systems, HVAC systems, nurse call systems, fire alarm systems, television systems, medical gas systems, IS systems and equipment, medical equipment, and other equipment/systems as needed.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision and exercise good judgment in handling difficult situations.
- Excellent human relations skills in order to remain calm and bring reassurance to situations in which important technical systems may have failed.
- Knowledge of carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good time management skills and self directed.
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities.
- Ability to work flexible schedule such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, on call rotation, etc.
- Performs basic repairs and maintenance on biomedical equipment.
- Completes scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
- Follows safety procedures and uses good judgment to prioritize work.
- Maintains service records, logs, and documentation.
- Ensures equipment meets safety and performance standards.
- Calibrates and tests equipment according to department guidelines.
- Identifies and reports equipment issues or safety risks.
- Assists with departmental projects and other duties as needed.
- May repair non-biomedical equipment as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Must be able to lift and carry materials and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must have good vision, correctable to 20/20, with no color blindness.
- Must be able to crawl, climb, stoop, and bend without restrictions.
- Must be able to work indoors, outdoors, above ceilings, and in confined spaces as duties dictate.
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools necessary for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs.
