AWS Cloud Cost & Security Analyst

We’re looking for an AWS Cloud Cost & Security Analyst to play a pivotal role in optimizing our cloud financial performance while safeguarding critical systems. In this dynamic position, you’ll manage AWS budgets, monitor costs, detect anomalies, and ensure compliance with NIST standards—all while collaborating across teams to maintain a strong security posture and operational excellence.

This position is located in one of CGI Federal's offices in Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to work in a CGI Federal office two days per week.

• Develop annual AWS budgets and maintain monthly forecasts.
• Perform detailed monthly cost analysis, including savings plans and environment-level reviews.
• Track and incorporate approved change requests into forecasts.

• Configure alerts for cost spikes and monthly spend thresholds.
• Investigate anomalies and coordinate remediation with responsible teams.

• Validate firewall and malware alerts; monitor AWS security events.
• Ensure compliance with NIST and SSP 2.0 standards through logging and documentation.
• Collaborate with monitoring teams to triage and resolve security incidents.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Hands-on experience with AWS administration and cost optimization.
• Strong understanding of AWS budgeting tools and alerting mechanisms.
• Familiarity with NIST compliance and SSP frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

• Experience with AWS Security Hub, Guard Duty, and advanced monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and cloud security best practices.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or Security Specialty) are a plus.
