We are hiring immediately for a part time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE position.

Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital, 2810 Ambassador Caffrey Parkway, Lafayette, LA 70506.

Part time; days and hours may vary with rotating weekends. Fixed Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour.

• Assist patients with understanding menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for food allergies, dietary sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences, or additional selections upon request.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory standards (federal, state, JCAHO) and follow HIPAA policies and patient rights procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
• Adhere to facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on liquid diets or those requiring calorie counts to manage nutrition.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner per department procedures.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.
