Physical Therapy Assistant – PRN – OLG Ortho

Join to apply for the Physical Therapy Assistant – PRN – OLG Ortho role at Ochsner Health
. This position provides routine treatment as assigned and according to a plan prepared by a licensed Physical Therapist. The assistant delivers direct patient care after the patient has been evaluated by a licensed Physical Therapist, and documents patient progress in daily progress notes and/or summaries to physicians.

Location:

OLG Ortho Inpatient Rehab Services
Availability: PRN – Weekend availability and weekdays when available

Education
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
Work Experience
  • None required.
Certifications
  • Current physical therapy assistant license in state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to facilities as required.
Job Duties
  • Perform physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Communicate and document any changes in patient status and inform the therapist of reassessment needs.
  • Maintain patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in staff and committee projects.
  • Achieve established productivity levels set by administration.
  • Educate and train others within the discipline.
  • Adapt communication style to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and ensuring clarity of services and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
