Overview

JOB TITLE:

MHP-Mental Health Professional

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Directly responsible to the Team Leader and Supervisor of Mental Health Counseling

Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports;
  • Teach skills to client; individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes;
  • Implement premium plans and techniques based on treatment plans;
  • Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans;
  • Meet with families, probation officers, police, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process;
  • Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and/or treatment and clients  progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives;
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in clients  status;

  • Adhering to all Shoulders of Strength, Inc. Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain a caseload not to exceed thirty (30) clients at any given time.

  • Active listening skills (paying attention to what others are saying, seek clarification on points, and asking appropriate questions;
  • Social perceptiveness (being aware of others  reactions to conversations and conditions around them);
  • Critical thinking and good problem solving and decision making abilities;
  • Positive professional caring attitude;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Qualifications
    • 1. Applicant must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology;
    • 2. A minimum of (2) years combined work experience in a direct service capacity is desired;
    • 3. Applicant must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner is crucial;
    • 4. Possess the ability to work with diverse groups of people;
    • 5. Must be knowledgeable of standard treatment approaches and trend

    Job Type: Full-time
