Pharmacy Manager - Sign-On and Relocation Assistance Available

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to provide empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients, ensuring effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. The role includes preventive and clinical healthcare services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. The Pharmacy Manager keeps all pharmacy operations compliant with regulatory guidelines and company policies while managing inventory, improving financial performance, and enhancing patient experience.

Pharmacy Manager $5,565.00–$6,119.40 Bi‑Weekly

Job Summary

Provides pharmacy consulting, compounding, record keeping, and patient counseling. Oversees pharmacy workflow, staff performance, training, and professional development while maintaining compliance with regulations and company policies. Enhances patient experience and drives business performance improvements.

Job Responsibilities Patient Experience
  • Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves patient issues promptly and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices, showing care through greeting, eye contact, and courtesy.
  • Connects with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, promoting Walgreens’ shift toward interpersonal care.
  • Participates in community events as requested by Store Manager, Healthcare Supervisor, or District Manager.
Operations
  • Counsels patients on medication usage, side effects, and alternatives, referring to providers when needed.
  • Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations, company policies, and Good Faith Dispensing practices.
  • Oversees staffing schedules, assigns roles, coordinates activities, and solicits team suggestions.
  • Manages pharmacy opening/closing, shift changes, and maintains equipment and pharmacy layout.
  • Ensures accurate insurance claim processing and resolves issues with insurers and providers.
  • Supports pharmacy staff and patients with information technology and workflow improvements.
  • Prepares required records, reports, and documentation for state and federal authorities.
People & Performance Management
  • Collaborates on hiring, discipline, and termination, ensuring employment law compliance.
  • Establishes expectations and goals, promotes teamwork, and recognizes staff improvements.
  • Manages performance reviews and identifies high‑potential members for career progression.
  • Addresses employee relations concerns and maintains morale.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintains required licensing, credentialing, and certification.
  • Continues professional development through journals, publications, and training modules.
  • Seeks feedback and leverages supervisors and managers as mentors.
Communications
  • Supports the Store Manager by communicating health and wellness services to pharmacy staff.
Business Performance Management
  • Analyzes pharmacy financials, customer service, and inventory data, identifying trends and opportunities.
Business Planning
  • Develops relationships with local medical community, promoting pharmacy business growth.
  • Presents community outreach to expand health and wellness awareness.
Basic Qualifications
  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the district states.
  • Certified Immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days.
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy experience, including prescription filling, record‑keeping, compliance, operations, technology, and insurance billing.
  • Strong knowledge of controlled substance laws.
  • Positive leadership rating (≥ 3.0) and no disciplinary actions in the last 12 months (for internal candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience in pharmacy staff management.
  • At least 6 months of experience with Walgreens.
  • Leadership rating ≥ 3.7 for internal candidates.
