The Senior Auditor – Accounting
, will be responsible for examining and evaluating financial records, statements, and accounting procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Other duties will include conducting audits, identifying financial discrepancies, and providing recommendations for process improvements. The position will report directly to the CFO and will interact with the Accounting & Finance team.
- Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
- Prepare detailed reports on audit findings.
- Report asset utilization and audit results to management, and recommend changes in operations and financial activities.
- Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
- Examine records and interview workers to ensure the recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Review data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.
- Confer with company officials about financial and regulatory matters.
- Examine whether the organization s objectives are reflected in management s activities and whether employees understand the goals.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as needed, in accordance with GAAP.
- Degree in accounting.
- CPA designation preferred, but not required.
- 4-5 years of Auditing in a public accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Previous experience in the construction industry preferred, but not required.
- Excellent software skills (including Excel and PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Self-starter with the desire to create and grow the position.
- Detail-oriented and accurate.
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment that moves quickly.
