Jacobs Entertainment is currently in search of a Human Resources Coordinator for Cash Magic—Lafayette. The Louisiana Cash Magic Truck Plaza & Casino incorporates 23 video gaming facilities situated throughout the state. Each site features a convenience store, fueling operations, a restaurant, and up to 50 poker machines. The video gaming machines are in a separate gaming room that offers a casino-like atmosphere and provides the road-weary traveler an exciting break from the highways.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists in communicating the provisions of each benefit plan to company employees effectively and clearly through letters, telephone, and in person.
  • Processes benefit plan enrollment and change forms through input to Human Resource system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors employee eligibility, enrolls and terminates employees in individual benefit plans.
  • Coordinates timely and accurate payment for all benefit programs to the benefit provider/carrier.
  • Audits and monitors payroll reports and benefits eligibility reports to ensure that all deductions and payments for benefits are properly accounted for and deposited in a timely manner.
  • Administers and explains benefit plans to employees, serves as a liaison between employees and insurance carriers.
  • Provides advice, assistance, and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of new hire paperwork adhering to company compliance guidelines.
  • Processes all new hire paperwork and inputs into HRIS.
  • Maintains accurate and timely human resources record-keeping and processing.
  • Responsible for posting employment ads within the company as well as through external sources (such as newspapers, ads, etc.).
  • Responsible for any incoming employment and/or income verifications for current or previous employees.


Skills, Education, and Other Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills and typing skills required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents and to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems by identifying the objectives and applying practical solutions.
  • Identification that establishes identity.
  • Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States.
