Automation Specialist; Off-shore Gulf of Mexico

Position: Automation Specialist (Off-shore Gulf of Mexico)

Primary Responsibilities:

* Respond and provide automation support during outages.

* Support the daily operations of the business unit through the installation, programming, start-up and maintenance of automation and process control equipment.

* Develop control strategies, provide input to P&IDs, control system specifications, termination diagrams, and commissioning plans.

* Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Information Technology Groups.

* Understand and follow MOC processes to ensure proper PLC Program updates and changes.

* Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

* Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

* Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

* Additional duties as required.

Required Skills:

* Execute Allen Bradley PLC based Control System Projects.

* Perform troubleshooting of Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC's and Wonderware HMI systems.

* Directly interface with clients and company management to report project status, risks and resolutions.

* Maintain thoroughness and attention to detail. A significant amount of time will be spent working with complex PLC programs and advanced process control systems.

* Accustomed with Deepwater Oil & Gas Processing Facilities.

* Proficiency in instrumentation required.

* Mastery of Control System Design and Project Execution.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering from school of engineering and technology or technical institute or 5-year relevant work experience.

* 5+ years of experience with Wonderware and AB Control Logix PLCs.

* Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) skills.

* Adept analytical, problem solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and be willing to learn.

* Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.
