Position Overview
Associate Professor/Professor (Director for School of Kinesiology) at University of Louisiana e-month tenure appointment as Director, School of Kinesiology.
Responsibilities- Direct the School of Kinesiology and meet tenure criteria in teaching, research, and service; qualify for rank as associate or full professor (tenure criteria provided upon request).
- Serve as an academic administrator to a dynamic, multidisciplinary faculty; encourage professional growth; communicate pertinent information to the university community, faculty, staff, and students.
UL Lafayette is the largest of nine publicly supported universities in the University of Louisiana system with about 19,000 students. The School of Kinesiology offers graduate and undergraduate programs with over 1,000 enrolled students. Facilities include a 1500+ sq. ft. human performance laboratory and an athletic training laboratory. For details contact search committee co-chairs.
Qualifications- Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or a related discipline
- Eligible for rank of associate or full professor
- Record of successful research and support for scholarly activities
- Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills fostering growth and national visibility
- Demonstrated success with programmatic assessment
- Experience with administrative leadership
- Experience with accreditation processes
- Excellence in university-level teaching
- History of effective faculty and student mentorship
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distance learning
- Experience with CAATE, CAEP, COSMA accreditation
Negotiable commensurate with qualifications, rank, and experience.
