Accountant / Senior Accountant
Position SummaryThis position plays a key role in supporting the Company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This position is responsible for the month-end close process, maintaining the general ledger, reviewing financial statements, and providing analytical support to operations and leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, detail‑oriented professional who can operate independently while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Support and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Prepare and file sales and use tax reports and support other compliance and external reporting requirements
- Oversee and support the accounts receivable function, including billing accuracy, collections support, and aging analysis
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc analytical reports to support management decision‑making
- Perform cost and margin analysis for individual field jobs or projects, partnering with operations as needed
- Assist with audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of general ledger accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Experience with month‑end close and account reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting/ERP systems preferred
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Team‑oriented, collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Experience in a multi‑location, project‑based, or field‑services environment
- Sales tax and compliance reporting experience
- Prior experience supporting audits or external reporting
