Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 18 months of experience, Cerner proficiency, and an active IN or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes primarily medical patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, COVID-19, chest pain, and small bowel obstruction, with a smaller surgical caseload (approximately 1-3 post-surgical cases/day) including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, colectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy,

• Patient ratio of 1:6,

• Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (6:00-18:30),

• Every other weekend required,

• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required,

• Charting is performed in Cerner,

Job Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license currently in hand,

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA and RQI formats accepted),

• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of RN experience required,

• Telemetry experience required,

• IV insertion experience required,

• Cerner EMR experience required,

• Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required,

• Local candidates are not accepted for this position,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• RN travelers holding an IN license are not eligible for this position; this restriction does not apply to Periop/OR, Allied, or Ambulatory RN travelers,

• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler,

• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays,

• RTO of 5 days or fewer can be auto-approved,
