Medical Progressive Acuity Adaptable (MP4) is a 31-bed acuity adaptable medical and progressive level of care unit. Nurses are trained to care for medical patients with the plan to train as a progressive level of care nurse within six months of completing Med Surg orientation. MP4 nurses care for a variety of illnesses and procedures making it the perfect place to see a wide variety of disease processes while growing skills and critical thinking.

- Patient assessment
- Time management
- Ability to grow into PCU level
- End of life care
- Critical thinking
- Patient and family education
Unit success/designations:
- Magnet facility
- Joint Commission Stroke Certified
Unit culture/highlights:
- 10-week new graduate orientation with specific training to develop critical thinking skills
- Mentorship program for new graduates
- Training for NIH Stroke Certification
- Training for chemotherapy administration if interested
- Able to sit for four nurse certifications (stroke, med/surg, PCU, oncology)
Qualifications
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
