Job Description

Arconic is currently searching for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN. This position is a night shift, 6pm - 6am, on a rotating schedule.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and coordinate maintenance activities during assigned shifts in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment maintenance, team leadership, and continuous improvement, and supervisory experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Supervise and direct maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective completion of work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • Monitor equipment performance and reliability, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support operational goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, shift reports, and equipment history.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to build a high‑performing maintenance crew.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using maintenance databases such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or similar planning and scheduling tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency.

    Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, science, or manufacturing from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working/supervising in a Union environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of Oracle EAM work order system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
