Production Operator

Base pay range$23.50/hr – $30.00/hr
Job DescriptionJoin Our Team as a Production Operator.
Main ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate taping machines to insulate aluminum and copper wire based on order specifications for insulation type, width, thickness of layers, and footage.
Perform First Hour Duties Including, But Limited To- Complete oven process control change card (Blue Card)
- Check all drawing dies; with special attention to the finish die and lube nozzles for plugging and misdirection.
- Change finish die felt and check vibration dampener.
- Check enamel flow on all ovens
- Inspect Lear heads to make sure they are on and the wire is running through the reeds, and verify alignment.
- Check bare wire supply.
- Report any set deficiencies to your Group Leader or Supervisor.
- Identify scrap wire with the appropriate documentation. If determination on wire cannot be made, wire should be placed in the disposition square for determination.
- ODQ all finished product.
- Change lube felts on changeovers, ox jobs, and once per month by plant guidelines or as needed.
- Complete all changeovers, conversions, start‑ups and spec/package changes.
- Complete operations oven checklists.
- Correct all red tags, trouble slips, and ODQ issues promptly.
- Put downed wires (ox jobs) back on production.
- Communicate any maintenance issues to Group Leader/Supervisor to ensure work orders are written for anything that needs repaired.
- Change scotch rites in bare wire clamps on required ovens as needed.
- Complete all necessary quality tests.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
- Setup set for next operator/shift.
- Truck finished goods and raw material.
- Follow all safe work instructions and company policies and procedures.
- Train Operators as assigned.
- All other work‑related duties as assigned.

- 12‑hour shift
- 6 week rotation (6 weeks on days from 8 am to 8 pm & 6 weeks on nights from 8 pm to 8 am)

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and handle stress.
- Capable of maintaining forklift certification.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic reading, writing and math.
- Must be able to master the skills required and complete operator training.
- Knowledge of safety, distribution, and manufacturing best practices.
- High level of mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with basic hand tools and measuring devices, verified through work history and references.
- Magnet wire experience.
- Preference for candidates demonstrating recent, consistent work history.
- Preference for candidates with a strong work ethic, reliability, and a demonstrated commitment to professional growth in a manufacturing setting.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the manufacturing site including high temperatures. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
