JOB SUMMARY

Assist the GM in running the operations of the golf course, including weekly, monthly and annual reporting, budgeting, merchandising, and staff hiring/training. Coordinate and execute golf tournaments. Supervise golf shop operations, range operations, and golf cart operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Promotes, works and acts in a manner consistent with the values of LGM.
  • Hire, manage, schedule and develop golf shop employees including assistant golf professionals, pro shop attendants and golf cart attendants;
    Assists the General Manager with the hiring of other employees.
  • Handle the merchandising for the golf shop; places orders and maintains golf shop inventory.
  • Assist in the marketing of the course including event planning for the course, works with members to secure agreements and coordinates activities associated with non‑golf events. Supervises and manages large non‑golf events.
  • Plans and executes golf tournaments, leagues, clinics and special events.
  • Assist the General Manager in serving as the community liaison for the course.
  • Consistently ensures that the club is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
  • Develops, maintains and disseminates a basic management philosophy to guide all course personnel toward optimal results, employee morale and member/guest satisfaction.
  • Manages all aspects of the club in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Monitors guest experience across all departments and takes appropriate action to ensure first‑class member/guest experience.
  • Assists General Manager with administrative functions including daily accounting, member billing, human resources and payroll. Submits all required information timely and accurately.
  • May assist in maintaining the inventory for the Food and Beverage department.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of company, member and guest information.
  • Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround time, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
  • Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.

  • Has knowledge of the organization and management of a pro shop.
  • Understands the rules of golf, the equipment used and golf tournament organization.
  • Has knowledge of driving range operation and management.
  • Effective communication skills orally and in writing.
  • Able to provide a high level of customer service with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and POS systems.
  • WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS
