Job Details:

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with self-scheduling

• Patient ratios: MS patients 1:5-6, PCU patients 1:3-4 (acuity-based)

• Float to other units as needed

• Weekend coverage required, must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• 36 hours of orientation provided

• Dress code: red scrub top with black bottoms

• Use Cerner charting system

• Free parking available

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

• Must have 1 year of experience, with solid neuro experience preferred

• Experience required with cardizem, amiodarone, lasix, insulin drips, post heart cath, and post pacemaker procedures

• Care for mixed acuity patients including oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary cases

• Manage unstable stroke patients and BiPap equipment

• Handle central line care, cardiac drip titration, chemotherapy monitoring, and blood product administration

• Must have Indiana state license, compact license, or Indiana temporary license in hand prior to start

• Local Indiana residents not accepted for this position

• Travel experience with MS/Tele or PCU background accepted

This 194-bed short-term acute care hospital operates a dynamic mixed acuity progressive care unit that combines medical surgical and progressive care levels. The facility specializes in oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary care, providing comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit maintains a daily census of 29-31 patients across 31 rooms and beds, offering advanced cardiac monitoring and specialized stroke care capabilities.
