Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer
This role involves providing onsite engineering production support, conducting assembly fit ups of new designs, and working closely with design and manufacturing engineers to gather and provide feedback. You will utilize 3D modeling and visualization tools to verify and explore new designs, manage engineering change requests, and assist in evaluating design deviations. This position offers the opportunity to enhance your engineering, assembly/manufacturing, communication, and networking skills.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Service, and other departments to solve complex problems.
- Collaborate closely with technicians, plant personnel, and suppliers concerning product design, testing, and production schedules.
- Refine and improve product designs by investigating and developing solutions to design problems.
- Work with customers, dealers, and other departments throughout the problem resolution process.
- Initiate, develop, and control plans through the stages of production release.
- Provide leadership to drafting personnel and assembly engineers.
- Guide Assemblers and Test Engineers during product build-up and testing.
- Ensure proper maintenance of production drawings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with Creo and Vismockup.
- In-depth engine knowledge.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
- Capability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience with diesel engines is a plus.
You will be part of a team of about 10-12 engineers and technologists. The role is primarily based in an office setting, but will frequently require visits to the factory floor. Working hours are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.65/hr.
