Senior Electrical Engineer – Arconic

Position:
Senior Electrical Engineer in the Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit.

Responsibilities- Design and Develop:
Creating, developing, and testing electrical systems and equipment to ensure they meet required specifications and standards. - Project Manage:
Leading and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, including developing project schedules and budgets. - Mentor:
Overseeing the work of junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, and mentoring them. - Ensure Compliance and Safety:
Oversee electrical systems and components comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. - Collaboration:
Working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and consultants to deliver integrated engineering solutions, including hourly union employees. - Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Identifying and addressing performance and production issues, maintaining and improving existing engineering processes. - Documentation and Reporting:
Preparing and studying technical drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements. - Continuous Learning:
Keeping abreast of advancements in electrical engineering and applying new technologies where relevant.
- Relocation assistance is available.
- Travel less than 25%.
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering and maintenance experience in a heavy equipment plant environment.
- 3+ years’ experience with electrical CAD software for designing and stimulating electrical systems.
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency.
- Working knowledge of industrial computer control systems such as PLCs, motor control systems, and man-machine interfaces.
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office software and basic web tools.
- Excellent communication skills and an aptitude for detailed work requiring a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience programming robots in ABB.
