Key Responsibilities- Provide subject‑matter expertise and early design‑phase guidance on semiconductor cleanroom HVAC, MAUs, process exhaust, hydronic piping, and dry mechanical system concepts.
- Lead the installation of all dry mechanical systems including AHUs, RTUs, ductwork, exhaust systems (general, HEPA, chemical, solvent), chilled water, hot water, and supporting mechanical infrastructure.
- Oversee design coordination related to cleanroom airflow, subfab mechanical routing, tool hook‑ups, and equipment placement.
- Support the project’s energy efficiency and sustainability requirements, including system optimization and best‑practice mechanical routing.
- Assist with site‑wide clash detection, space coordination, and constructability reviews using 3D model platforms such as Navisworks or BIM‑based modeling tools.
- Review and recommend approval for mechanical specifications, installation standards, hanger/support systems, pipe rack and duct bank designs, and construction details.
- Assist with determining optimal duct and pipe routing philosophies, system boundary definitions, and alignment with commissioning requirements.
- Participate in model reviews with EPC, AE, and construction teams to ensure mechanical design is compliant with semiconductor cleanroom and manufacturing standards.
- Support tendering and procurement activities for mechanical packages, including scope review, bid evaluations, and contractor engagement.
- Assist in reviewing contractor submittals, RFIs, and design clarifications with the EPCM engineering team.
- Monitor construction progress, track performance, and resolve field‑level mechanical issues.
- Conduct detailed system walkdowns to validate installation quality, verify readiness for mechanical completion, and support turnover documentation.
- Provide oversight and coordination of TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) activities, including cleanroom airflow performance and system readiness.
- Interface with contractors, engineers, and project teams to drive schedule adherence and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure accurate documentation of mechanical installation, inspections, deviations, and punch items.
- Support commissioning teams through system startup, functional testing, and handover of mechanical systems.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all dry mechanical activities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5‑10 years of experience in mechanical construction for semiconductor fabs, high‑tech manufacturing facilities, or large‑scale industrial projects.
- Deep knowledge of semiconductor HVAC systems, cleanroom mechanical requirements, subfab mechanical systems, and process support utilities.
- Strong understanding of dry mechanical infrastructure, including ductwork, hydronic piping, chilled water systems, exhaust systems, and makeup air systems.
- Experience coordinating with EPCM partners and mechanical subcontractors on complex, fast‑paced projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, one‑line diagrams, BIM models, and mechanical specifications.
- Proven experience supporting commissioning, TAB, and system startup for large mechanical systems.
- Strong organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lead multi‑trade coordination and drive field execution to schedule targets.
- Certification in mechanical engineering, construction management, or project management.
- Experience with semiconductor cleanroom airflow concepts, pressure cascades, and contamination‑control fundamentals.
- Proficiency using construction management platforms and BIM tools such as ACC, Navisworks, or Bluebeam.
- Hands‑on experience supporting mechanical system turnover, shakedown, and commissioning.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent field experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
