This is a 1.0 FTE position as a Spanish teacher for the  school year at Jefferson High School. Applicants must be licensed from the State of Indiana in Spanish covering grades 9-12. Consideration will be given to applicants that are enrolled in a state approved Transition to Teaching program or that are eligible for an Emergency Permit in Spanish assuming the prerequisite skills are possessed.

Those already on a certified contract with the Lafayette School Corporation should complete an INTERNAL application by Friday, March 13, 2026. Candidates that are not currently on a certified contract with the Lafayette School Corporation should complete an external application through Applitrack.

Position Summary

Jefferson High School is seeking a dynamic and student‑centered Spanish Teacher to join our instructional team. The Spanish Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high‑quality instruction in Spanish language and culture to students at Jefferson High School. The teacher fosters student engagement and proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking while promoting cultural awareness and global understanding. The position supports the academic mission of Jefferson High School and the Lafayette School Corporation by creating meaningful learning opportunities that promote student growth and achievement.

Qualifications

Required
  • Valid Indiana teaching license in Spanish Education
Preferred Consideration
  • Applicants enrolled in a state‑approved Transition to Teaching program in Spanish
  • Candidates eligible for an Indiana Emergency Permit in Spanish Education if prerequisite competencies are demonstrated and 4000 hours in a related field
