Our client is a Lafayette based contractor delivering quality construction with integrity for projects of all sizes. Their work spans new construction, building additions, interior buildouts, renovations, and pre-engineered metal buildings, supported by carpentry and construction management expertise.

Role Overview

The Superintendent will lead onsite operations and field execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with contract documents. As the main site leader, you’ll work closely with project management, subcontractors/self perform teams, and trade partners to keep work flowing efficiently across a variety of commercial and highed education projects.

Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Coordination
  • Supervise daily field operations and teams on commercial construction sites.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, labor, and material deliveries to support the schedule.
  • Foster clear communication between office leadership and field personnel.
Schedule & Quality Management
  • Maintain project schedules and assist in sequencing work for milestones.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify quality and adherence to plans.
  • Address conflicts or delays proactively to keep work on track.
Safety & Site Standards
  • Champion safety best practices and ensure compliance with site requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Produce daily site reports and records; document progress and field conditions.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to guide field activities.
  • Communicate updates, concerns, and potential issues to project leadership.
Ideal

Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial construction field experience in leadership capacity.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.
