Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating transportation that transports passengers/citizens to their destinations.

Job Duties

Drives Catoosa County residents to and from various appointments
Operates an iPad and two-way radio and telephone
Records mileage, conducts daily inspections and completes appropriate paperwork
Assists special need passengers when boarding the bus
Assists all passengers onto and off the bus;
Assists with loading of groceries and bags
Routine cleaning of bus’s interior
Takes buses for routine oil changes, washes, mechanical inspections, and gas
Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations
Less than one year of related experience required
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures
Knowledge of Georgia Department of Transportation regulations, Department of Human Services policies and procedures, and Transit Alliance Groups guidelines for Catoosa Transit
Knowledge of county roads
Knowledge of traffic laws
Knowledge of bus composition, standard sanitary procedures, and restraint systems training
Knowledge of computers, job related programs, and equipment
Knowledge of emergency protocol, roadside procedures, and dealing with medical and/or violent incidents
Skill in interpersonal relations
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill in following directions and using maps
Skill in working with the public
Skill in operating job-related equipment
