Branch Generalist – Lafayette YMCA

The perfect launching pad for your YMCA career. We are looking for multi‑talented candidates who are ready to balance their passion for working with kids and their desire to broaden their skill sets and work experience in YMCA branch operations. We currently have a position open at the Lafayette YMCA.

The Branch Generalist position offers the opportunity for an entry‑level, full‑time, year‑round position at the YMCA of Northern Colorado. You will gain work experience in our licensed school‑age programs and on our wellness floor, at our pool, at our front desk, with our properties team, in our summer day camps and in our child watch center. Our Branch Generalists spend approximately 20 hours a week in after‑school or summer day‑camp programs and up to 20 hours a week working in other areas of our YMCA.

  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member‑focused programs in all departments to support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Independently leads and supervises children in small and large group activities.
  • Works with departmental staff to establish new program activities and program expansion within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans ensuring financial and operational efficiency.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high‑quality facilities, grounds, and equipment, working with the appropriate departments to address any issues promptly.
  • Adheres to program standards including CDHS licensing, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Attends staff meetings and completes training requirements.
  • Follows and ensures implementation of YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff, parents, participants, and community members.
  • Maintains confidentiality of YMCA issues, incidents, and records.
  • Is on time for all shifts; and is flexible to accommodate unexpected schedule changes, including full days.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Dependable, self‑motivated and committed to being a positive role model for youth.
  • Experience working with children and an understanding of childhood development is preferred.
  • Ability to occasionally serve as a substitute if needed.
  • First Aid, CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days of being hired. We can provide this training.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community Preferred.
  • Clean MVR for minibus/YMCA vehicle driving.
  • May require travel within our YMCA service area. This will require reliable transportation.
  • School‑Age Childcare Director or Program Leader qualification required.

USD $17.00 - $21.00 /hr.
