We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Upper School English teacher to join our community for the 2026–2027 school year. In this role, the teacher will inspire a love of literature, critical thinking, and effective communication while helping students develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
The ideal candidate will support students’ academic growth through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction that encourages interpretation, discussion, and creative expression. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the teacher will contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity, responsibility, and confidence in young learners. The teacher will also communicate regularly with families to support student progress and growth.

Yearly Salary range: $55,000 - $75,000
Position is a 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

- Bachelor’s degree in English education or a related field required; a graduate degree is preferred
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably at the upper school level
- Demonstrated strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Warm, approachable demeanor with a genuine enjoyment of working with upper school students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of personal responsibility and professionalism
- Ability to thoughtfully integrate technology into instruction and communication
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding high ethical and professional standards
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
- Report to and collaborate closely with the Director of Upper School
- Teach four sections of any level of Upper School English (potentially English 9, English 10, AP Language, AP Literature, or junior/senior seminars)
