Job Function Information Technology
Overview Instruct and implement lesson plans for skating as scheduled by the Director. Organize areas to ensure safety and a clean appearance that supports skating. Lead groups of participants through drills and activities, keeping the program on schedule and running smoothly. A Clinic Instructor must have significant knowledge of the sport and/or experience coaching or playing sports in order to advise participants and colleagues.
Effectively break down skills and explain them so participants can understand and perform them. Communicate and collaborate with children, staff, school and community members.
- Maintain high-level knowledge of skating rules.
- Assist in program preparation as assigned by Program Director(s).
- Communicate and teach skills and drills to participants of all ages and abilities.
- Communicate important information regarding YMCA and youth sports to participants and parents.
- Handle onsite issues appropriately and convey relevant information to Program Director(s).
- Represent the YMCA professionally at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Certified in CPR, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen.
- Sports or ice skating experience; maintain applicable sport certifications as required.
